Wish you could see your section friends from the summer program again? Talk about getting together but never manage it? Here's your chance! Four or more members from the same section at Trial Practice Institutes can receive a 15% discount by signing up for Advanced Cross (also: 5% discount for two members, 10% discount for three members), and will be assigned to the same small groups for this program. This applies to all previous NCDC summer programs, so get in touch with your summer section friends and have a reunion!

This program focuses on the skill that defense lawyers use most often: cross-examination. The seminar presents a comprehensive approach, using concrete examples, of the "why and how" of cross-examination. Attorneys at all experience levels find the program informative and useful in defining and honing cross examination skills.

Enrollment for this program is limited. Registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis, so early registration is encouraged.

This program uses the same successful teaching method as our other programs. Lectures and demonstrations by a nationally recognized faculty supplement the small group workshops. In the workshops, participants conduct actual witness examinations before a video camera, a member of the faculty, and other members of the small group. Witness roles, including the victim, the accomplice, the police officer, and the bystander eyewitness, are played by actors trained to present realistic problems encountered by criminal defense lawyers.

Advanced Cross Examination will be held at the Renaissance Atlanta Hotel-Concourse. The hotel has 24-hour free shuttle service to and from the airport.

NCDC will arrange hotel accommodations for participants, at a special group rate, single or double. Please note: participants will make payment for all room charges directly to the hotel, BUT NCDC will make your reservations! Complete the reservation portion of the registration form and return it to NCDC. These rates will be available only until three weeks before the start date.

A reserved room will be held until 4pm EST Thursday before the start date. If you will arrive after that time, you must arrange for a deposit (or credit card guarantee) directly with the hotel at (404) 209-9999 or FAX (404) 209-7031. We send the hotel a housing list two weeks before the program so please do not call before then. If you wish to share a hotel room with another participant to economize, we will attempt (but not guarantee) to find you a roommate.

NOTE: The tuition fee does NOT include meals other than the continental breakfast.
